Alcatel trading unit was established in Thailand since 1939. Alcatel was the first foreign company who opened a telecommunications equipment factory in Thailand in 1967.
Today, the company employs 180 people. Almost 10% are non-Thai, with French, Indian, Bangladesh, Australian nationalities, who have strong competency and experience in sales and operation areas to support the business in Thailand.

April 22, 2014 - Alcatel-Lucent and DTAC upgrading optical network in Thailand to pave the way for ultra-broadband 4G LTE services


Growing our channel partner from 8 to 12 in 2013 to expand our leading into Thai market, Thailand has one of the major integration labs for Alcatel-Lucent’s technology innovation ecosystem to develop transformation solutions and future engagements with customers in Thailand and neighbouring countries.

The company has strong working relationships with: TOT Public Co., Ltd., CAT Telecom Public Co. Ltd., True Corporation Public Co Ltd., TrueMove and Shinawatra Satellite. Alcatel-Lucent also has extensive experience in enterprise systems and telecom infrastructure projects for Thailand’s major banks, hospitals and education facilities.

Playing a key role in developing Thailand’s telecommunications industry, Alcatel-Lucent has locally deployed:

•         IP/MPSL equipment for transport network

•         Optical and radio transmission system

•         Broadband infrastructure

•         Intelligent Network (IN) platform for prepaid billing system

•         GSM/2G/3G networks and femto cell across 100 percent of mobile operators

•         IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) technology platform and OSS

In 2013, ALU TH established new business with DTAC winning in Optic DWDM (breakthrough in Telenor group) and Femto and Veloxic. ALU also won DWDM project with Symphony, a leased line carrier continuing to diversify its customer portfolio.

Alcatel-Lucent has underlined its commitment to the society with many donation and activities. Other social responsibility activities, in line with corporate mission, included self-directed learning and digital inclusion program, building libraries and schools, IT equipment donations to remote schools. Consequently in 2014, Alcatel-Lucent (Thailand) is funding a million baht ‘Thai Cyber Kids Project’ in line with its corporate social responsibility project for students in Ayutthaya province that will be managed by the Education for Development Foundation.
